My daughter is off to one of her first College interviews at Johns Hopkins. She did several things to prepare.
I followed up with Suzanne Rheault, wife of an old business friend, founder of Aristotle Circle which matches parents to experts with current insight and inside knowledge of admissions, education and child development.
I got an email back from her that started.
Your daughter should know what her special sauce is and why John Hopkins is a top choice for her.
The remainder of the email contained terrific information that guided our research for the interview.
Aristotle Circle is not just for College admissions. Today there is even Pre-K and Kindergarten Standardized Tests used in applications. Aristotle Circle offers assistance there too.
I highly recommend it.

Can’t even say how disappointed that sort of thing makes me. By all means, let’s slant the odds in favor of the wealthier kids as usual. As if they don’t have enough. Whatever happened to merit? And yes, I did see a whole 10% goes to underprivileged kids — that’s nice.
Anyway I do hope your daughter gets in, but that organization is a symptom of what’s wrong with America. I’m looking at my little boy wondering if I’m going to have to take out a loan to get him in to this BS arms race. Wouldn’t want my smart boy to get eliminated by someone with “inside information about admissions.”
