When I am ready to go out, I press {Windows-Key L} to lock my computer. Microsoft XP plays a jingle when it locks. My dog, a Belgian Malinois, has associated this with my leaving and taking him for a walk. He hears the jingle and launches himself towards the door.
I upgraded to Vista which plays a different jingle. My dog has appeared confused; no longer having advanced notice to my leaving.
Today, he re-trained himself, recognizing the Vista lock down jingle (different from the startup jingle) and I can no longer sneak out without him knowing.
